Individual Counselling Services:

Our client centered approach to counseling, comprising of individual, group and family counseling sessions, is the cornerstone of the treatment program provided at Cambridge House. With trust and confidentiality lying at the core of the client-counselor relationship, each client is afforded the opportunity to explore their personal problems in a safe, respectful and understanding environment.

It is important for a strong foundation to be built for any lasting change and lifelong recovery…

Our approach gives the client the special one-on-one connection with his or her personal counselor through all phases of the treatment program. Each of our clients is assigned a qualified addiction counselor who is responsible for drawing up an individualized treatment plan based off a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, integrating the resources of all personnel involved with the client’s treatment, either directly or peripherally, and for communication of treatment goals and progress.

As well as one-on-one counselling sessions; clients will be afforded the opportunity to participate in group counseling, group counseling allows individuals undergoing treatment to experience getting support and feedback for personal challenges from their peers which helps them feel a part of and not alone in their journey. Education is a key part of each client’s treatment plan, allowing them to learn about addiction and the other elements pertaining to their personal problems (Duel Diagnosis, Trauma & Grief, etc.). More importantly they learn what can be done to build a strong foundation for lasting change and lifelong recovery.

At Cambridge House recognizes the critical role our client’s families play in the treatment and recovery process. The family counseling component of our client’s treatment plan includes a separate family addiction education program. The first few sessions the family gets to learn about addiction, how it’s affected them and also what may be helpful in supporting the client through recovery. During the final few sessions, the family and client work together to more fully understand addiction treatment as it relates to family members and the client’s recovery process.
